Volunteering & Internships


White Bird is currently seeking a Marketing / Graphic Design Volunteer or Intern.

Duties to include light InDesign and Photoshop, writing, email newsletter communications, maintaining a template-based website, social media and more.This is an unpaid position and unparalleled opportunity to learn about—and substantially take part in—the operations of a successful arts organization.


Position to start no later than June 5, 2014, but could begin as early as mid May.

Join this fun, dynamic and world-class arts organization. Position goes until Sept 15, or beyond if circumstances allow. (The majority of White Bird Interns stay on 3-6 months.)


This position requires approximately 20 hours/week of commitment. Hours and dates are negotiable as per your degree requirements and interest. Interns gain exposure to all aspects of the organization, but work directly with a mentor at White Bird, in this case primarily the Marketing Manager and/or General Manager.

More Internships with White Bird

White Bird is looking for interns who are interested in a 3-6 month commitment.  Many of our interns have stayed with us much longer. You will help in areas of Marketing, Audience Services, and Development, approximately 20 hours per week during regular office hours (9am-5pm) at the White Bird office, located in SW near OHSU. Additional help includes attending our performances, helping us set up our lobby display, managing our table, answering patron questions, and assisting with set up of the lobby display. 


Our internships are unpaid, but you will have the opportunity to attend wonderful dance performances, meet dancers from around the world, and learn about the details and logistics of presenting 12 contemporary dance companies each season.

Volunteering with White Bird


White Bird has been fortunate to have a wealth of wonderful volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with White Bird, we would love to hear from you. There are many volunteer opportunities, including a variety of office work, poster distribution, loading in and out of shows, mailings and staffing special events.
